Self-Visionaire Series 001: The Balancing Act

If you are someone with a plethora of skills and creative flair, like myself, you might resonate with the term “multi-creative.” Personally, I gravitate towards “multi-creatrix,” honoring the feminine essence and origin of the word. If you’re navigating life with self-awareness, a strive for clarity, and a drive rooted in dreams, you likely embody what I call a “Self-Visionaire.”

This concept forms a part of my evolution as a person and a creative. Often, I don’t fit into any particular expression, so I create my own. Being a multi-creative or a “self-visionaire” I feel in order to focus and flourish it often requires systems, due to the plethora of thoughts occurring simultaneously.

As highlighted before in a previous post, while being extremely open-minded and adaptable, I thrive on routine and structure to maintain good flow. The absence of some structure systems often leads to feelings of chaos. But incorporating “going with the flow” can also be a part of a balanced system, providing a necessary space to just tap into the flow state.

The game of balance

Balance is truly personal. It’s not necessarily a 50/50 split as most perceive it to be. Fact is, some days it might be 70/30 or 60/40. The ultimate goal is to make time for various life aspects while also prioritizing oneself.

Often, people, particularly creatives (I highlight creatives because it's the viewpoint I speak from), tend to neglect their needs until they reach a breaking point and/or burnout.

This neglect was the driving force behind the creation of The SVP (The Self-Vision Project), aimed at fostering a sense of personalized balance that includes self-care, a better mindset, adaptability, teachability, and a deeper understanding of oneself while moving towards your goals and desires.

Avoiding burnout

The current level of burnout globally is alarming. While there are many instances where sacrifices are necessary, it’s crucial to avoid falling into an autopilot cycle of constant push, leading to burnout.

Here’s the thing sometimes we like the push. Sometimes the push can feel incredible because we know are moving towards our desire and I’m so here for that when necessary. I get it. But it can become a vicious auto-pilot type of cycle we don’t even realize we are in until we tap back into our bodies and burnout hits us.

As previously stated, yes, levels of balance will change because I believe it should be set your way depending upon your personal goals. But you have to make time to tap into self on a daily basis too. That is the key here and the purpose of The SVP.

I will tell you more about the contents of The SVP in tomorrow’s post, and maybe even give you a walk thru preview before it releases this week!
