Being Your Own Muse In World Full of Highlight Reels

Am I going to jump into this new blog post like I haven't posted since late September 2023???

Yes…yes I am 😏 We will get into a life update another time.

Because I want to talk about something real—social media. We’re all so connected, and it’s like we can see into everyone else’s lives. From morning routines to career wins to luxurious vacations, it’s all there, right on our feeds. And while it’s amazing to be able to get a glimpse of what’s possible, it can also sometimes leave you feeling like you’re just… behind.

But here’s a truth I want you to hold onto: You are more than enough to be your own inspiration, your own muse. And in a world where everyone’s story is on display, the most powerful thing you can do is find your own voice, create from your own vision, and build a life that feels true to you. That’s why I spent the last year creating Future Made CEO and updating my first digital product system The Future Self System. They are both all about—becoming your own muse by tapping into your future self, seeing what you’re creating and letting her (your future self) guide you every step of the way.

This topic came to mind and I felt the need to extend it into a blog post after creating a TikTok on this exact topic the other day. See it here:

The Comparison Trap: Finding Inspiration vs. Feeling “Behind

Let’s be honest—it’s hard not to get sucked into the comparison game. You see someone living the life you dream of, with the success, the freedom, the confidence, and it can feel like you’re not measuring up. But here’s the thing: what you’re seeing is a highlight reel. You’re not seeing the hard work, the doubts, or the late nights that went into building that dream.

Quick Story Moment: There was a time I’d scroll through my feed and feel like I wasn’t doing enough. I’d look at people living out their dreams and think, “What TF am I doing wrong?” But then I realized, I was wasting my own creative energy watching someone else live their life instead of pouring that energy into creating my own story.

Instead of letting those images make you feel “less than,” let them be proof that more is possible. If someone else can do it, so can you. The difference? You’re going to make it your own. And you’re going to do it in a way that’s true to you.

Future Made vs. Self Made: Why “Future Made” Is a Mindset Shift

A lot of people talk about being “self-made” when they create something on their own, and that’s true. But for me, the journey of building my brand and dream life isn’t just about being self-made—it’s about being future made. Here’s why.

When you’re building a brand, a vision, or even a new version of yourself, you’re seeing it through the eyes of who you will be. You’re creating from the perspective of the future you—the one who’s already living that dream. And the more you step into her mindset, her energy, her vision, the closer she gets to guiding you. It’s like that future version of you is leading you, calling you forward, until you and that vision become one.

That’s why I call my brand Future Made CEO. It’s about embracing that future self and letting her be your muse. Because when you can look at your journey through her eyes, you’re tapping into a version of yourself that’s already done it. And every day, you’re getting closer to bringing her into the present.

Tap Into Your Own Energy: Why You Are Your Best Inspiration

Here’s the truth: nobody else has your story, your ideas, or your voice. You are a complete original, and that’s something no one else can ever replicate. Imagine if you channeled all that unique energy, all those dreams and ambitions, into creating the life you want to live. Imagine what you could build if you treated yourself as the most inspiring person you know.

CEO Energy Tip: Next time you’re feeling inspired by someone’s life online, pause and ask yourself, “What’s the part of their story that resonates with me?” and “How can I take that energy and apply it to my own life, in my own way?” This small shift takes you out of comparison mode and into creative mode.

Creating from Your Story, Not Just Your Aspirations

It’s so easy to get caught up in the vision of the “dream life,” but what makes your journey special is your story. Every challenge you’ve overcome, every step you’ve taken, even the setbacks—all of it is fuel for the person you’re becoming. Being your own muse isn’t just about imagining the future; it’s about honoring where you’ve come from, too.

Truth Bomb: It’s time to stop looking to others (whether in real life or social media) for validation or direction and it’s time to stop dimming your own light too. The truth is, nobody can tell your story better than you can. And when you create from a place of authenticity—from your real experiences and your personal journey—you connect with others in a way that feels authentic because it is.

Let your story guide you. Use your past as a foundation, not a limitation. Because everything you’ve been through has prepared you for what you’re building.

The Art of Creating from Within: Embracing Your Own Ideas

One of the most empowering shifts you can make is to start creating from your own imagination. Yes, it’s great to see what’s possible from others, but don’t forget that some of the best ideas come from within. Give yourself space to dream without outside influence. That’s where the magic happens.

Quick Exercise: Spend 10 minutes each day imagining what you want your life to look like. Not what you see on Instagram or TikTok, but the real dream that lives inside you. Let those ideas grow and evolve, and then start taking steps to make them real.

See Social Media as Fuel, Not a Blueprint

Social media is a tool—it can either be something that fuels you or something that drains you. The choice is yours. Instead of looking at it as a standard to measure up to, see it as a source of inspiration to keep you motivated. Every time you see someone achieving something incredible, take it as a reminder that the world is full of possibility, and that your dreams are just as valid, just as possible.

Mindset Shift: Next time you’re scrolling, remember that you’re not competing with anyone. You’re writing your own story. Let social media be a source of motivation, not a checklist of where you “should” be.

Baby You Are The Blueprint

At the end of the day, being your own muse is about seeing yourself as the blueprint. It’s about realizing that everything you need is already within you. You have your own dreams, your own vision, and your own magic. And when you show up as the fullest version of yourself, you create a ripple effect—you inspire others by being authentically you.

So, take the best parts of what you see, let them inspire you, but always come back to your energy, your story, and your dreams. Because no one else can create what you’re here to create. You are your own muse—and that’s more than enough.

Until Next Time,
